Product Type: Yttrium aluminum garnet (YAG) is an isotropic crystal with cubic symmetry. It has excellent optical and thermodynamic properties. Its mechanical properties and chemical stability are close to that of sapphire crystal, and there is no birefringence effect of sapphire. Pure YAG crystals have a high transmittance in the range of 0.25 ~ 5um and no absorption in the range of 2 ~ 3μm, while glass has a strong H2O absorption band. Therefore, undoped pure YAG crystals are a new type of substrate and window materials for ultraviolet and infrared optical devices. At the same time, the excellent physical and chemical properties and optical properties of YAG crystals make them important optical applications in high temperature and high energy physical environments.
